A workshop and lecture programme on doing business in China in the creative sector. With trade missions such as evaluation, business cases and a business dinner.

14.00 – 14.30 Warming up

Marije Hove City (Syntens): “Doing Business in China for Dummies”

14.30 – 17.30 Part 1 Afternoon programme

The afternoon session of the meeting in the warehouse pays attention to all these different dimensions and different stages of this adventure. Expected presentations from expert experience from creative design, architecture and fashion. But also: contributions of NL Agency (Ministry of Economic Affairs), the Dutch Embassy in China, the EU Chamber of Commerce in China and the Dutch Design Workspaces. There is a spoken column and we look with participants and mission controllers back on trade missions to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Shanghai, to learn from each other and to exchange and consolidate knowledge and contacts are key. With the cooperation of others: Studio Dumbar Studio Mango, A Fish Named Fred, Ping Pong Design and ROPAROSA.

17.30 – 19.30 Part 2 Dinner ‘business circles’

Dinner consists of three courses over four tables that correspond with trade missions to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Hong Kong. In the presence of table chairmen George Ammerlaan (Hong Kong), Rogier Coopmans (Beijing), Peter Kersten and Marije Hove City (Guangzhou) and Marie-Anne Souloumiac (Shanghai) looks back on these trade missions, experiences and contacts made are re-cited. The seating arrangement is changed during the night for the exchange of experiences in other cities optimally.

19.30 – 22.15 Part 3 Evening entertainment

The evening programme offers a continuation of the afternoon, with a greater focus on the business dimension of business in China. Including an academic introduction to the impact of business development in China to the West, inspiring and engaging presentations of various business cases and further contributions DutchDFA, NAI, Design and Cooperation Brainport Dutch Design College.
