BeefisSexy is a graphic design studio run by Evelyn Hussain, who gained experience  in branding and graphic design in agencies and design studios in Shanghai before she went freelance. Her specialty lies in brand development, visual identity system and packaging design - mostly servicing values-based companies. 
 
Past projects include brand identity development and below the line work for Haworth’s line of healthcare and restoratives environment furniture, and identity development and packaging for eco home and personal care products. Currently Evelyn is working on a project with Pure Whole vegetarian restaurant as well as developing visual identity and packaging for a nutritious cold-press fruit juice brand for the local and international market.

THE POSITIONS:


1. PR & COMMUNICATION MANAGER DUTCH DESIGN WORKSPACE
 
Dutch Design Workspace is an incubator program for design, fashion and architecture supported by the Dutch government. We help foreign creative industry companies to start their business in China. We offer shared workspace and consultancy services such as PR support. Next to this we host a yearly event program tailor made for the creative industry in China. Since the start we have assisted more than 40 companies with their business development and start in the Chinese market.
 
Main responsibilities
Implement and further develop media and marketing plan
Responsible for yearly event program
Media exposure and relation management
Work with our international design and lifestyle media network
Manage and promote our website, webshop and be active on our social media
PR support to incubator participants
Develop & manage creative business events
Regularly update our (social) media channels
Manage business club and liaise with sponsors
Host visitors and represent our incubator and its participants
 
Requirements
- You are a networker by nature, you like to write & present in public.
- You are passionate about design, fashion, architecture, culture, lifestyle and international trends.
- You have a strong network within Media and Design in Shanghai and rest of China.
- At least two years experience in similar position in China
- Able to work with demanding deadlines and targets
- Pro-active, social, representative, personality.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English (Dutch optional)
- You can use Word/ Excel/ Powerpoint/ Mac/ Weibo/ Wordpress.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English & Chinese.

Requirements
- You have managed a web shop before.
- You are a networker by nature

3. ELDORADO MARINE: FINANCIAL MODELLER & BUSINESS PLAN DEVELOPPER

ELDORADO MARINE offers a complete zero emission watersports experience; from
powerboat to the dock. Our product includes the electric powerboat, the sustainable
charging dock as well as tailor made marina development and management services.
The company is led by Giel Groothuis and Godert van Hardenbroek; two Dutch
entrepreneurs with wide experience in the field of design and sustainable business
development in China and the rest of the world.

TASKS
• Finalize financial parameters for investment planning.
• Calculate investment scenarios based on current business plan in Excel.
• Compare performance of business model to existing market case.
• Visualize the numbers into clear diagrams and info graphics.
• Prepare project finance documentation for investors.

REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in business modeling and financial calculations.
• Exact, punctual and open minded entrepreneurial attitude.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Practical English oral & written skills.
• Preferred background: MBA or similar education in business administration.
• Minimally 3rd year bachelor’s level.

Sign Up for the 'Dutch Design in China - Book 3'

After two successful editions in 2011 and 2012 the all-new Dutch Design in China – Book 3 will be launched this year! Dutch Design in China – Book 3 presents top design companies from the Netherlands that are active in China. The purpose of the book is to promote Dutch Design in China and to introduce a variety of Dutch Design companies to potential clients in China.

The book gives a unique overview of the Dutch creative industry firms currently based in China and their latest realized projects. It provides a snapshot of Dutch Design in China, promoting Dutch Design in a global context. In the last editions over 80 companies have been featured, amongst which well known names such as MVRDV, StudioRoosegaarde, Springtime, United Nude, OMA, G-star, VANMOOF and many more.

We are very honoured to welcome and feature GA Design International to our co-working space and feature them in our first newsletter. GA Design International is a leading Interior and Architectural Design practice specialising in Hospitality Design worldwide. Established in London in 1985, it has expanded to Budapest and Kuala Lumpur, GA Design has an incredible wealth of deluxe hotel design experience in their portfolio, ranging from Park Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, Waldorf Astoria, St Regis to Shangri-La, Hilton Conrad, etc. Over the years they have also gained extensive experience in high-end residential and brand design.

In 2014 GA Design has made the big step of settling into the exciting Chinese market, led by Ms Ying Jin and looks to offer a wide range of interior design services to the local market. The first token project in Shanghai is Starwood’s famous lifestyle brand W-Hotel on the North- Bund, which is going to open in 2015.
